Researchers from UniSA's Wearable Computer Laboratory have been developing garment integrated electronic technology that can tell you what you wore to the last party, where you wore it and what accessories you wore with it.

This technology, developed by Professor Bruce Thomas along with two of his students, Aarron Toney and Wyand Misie, can even help you choose a suitable outfit from your smart wardrobe for your next get-together with friends.

Bruce explained to Fibre2fashion, "The main aim of this technology is to remember easily what you wore to the last party or occasion. If a person wants to develop easy-to-carry technology, then clothes are the best option. We want to make technology that can be used by people in their day-to-day life to manage their wardrobe. By using this technology, they can save their money on last minute shopping sprees.”

Thomas says, "Middle-aged people are most likely to use this technology. Fashion-crazy youngsters may also take the help of this smart wardrobe."

As for wearable computers, the professor says, "We want to figure out how this technology can be further improved."

When asked if computers will dominate human lifestyle, Bruce chuckles, "Hopefully not. This technology is meant only to facilitate and help people who are fashion-conscious. It will certainly not take over the user's life."
