China's trade result for the month of January 2008, proved quiet encouraging as compared to the same in the corresponding year.
Export of apparel and clothing accessories also showed a positive trend, reaching US $9.94 billion, a year on year increase of 22.3 percent. Additionally, export of textile yarn, fabrics and finished products earned foreign revenue worth $5.39 billion, up 34.8 percent
Besides, export of machinery and equipments totaled $20.19 billion marking an increase of 21.9 percent.
Even footwear products made export earnings worth $2.62 billion marking an increase of 16.3 percent compared to the same period last year.
However, imports also made its share of impact. While 13.94 million tons of crude oil was imported from outside showing a hike of 1.8 percent; import of industrial products caused an expenditure of $62.47 billion, up 16.6 percent, accounting for 69.3 percent of the total value of imports for the same period.
