Apparel Export Park to come up in Vizag, AP by year end

Export of apparels from units established in Visakhapatnam Apparel Park (VAEP) will begin by December end from Apparel Export Park (VAEP), informed K Srikanth Prabhakar, Deputy Director of Handlooms.
He said, two companies Hirawat Industries and Swarnag Apparels have begun constructing their facilities and exports are scheduled for December end.
About 21 of the 71 plots have been alloted to 36 entreprenuers on 145 acres of land near Visakhapatnam.
An investment of Rs 50 lakhs and Rs 5 crores on plant and machinery by each entrepreneur has been envisaged.
This apparel park will see joint investment by state government and the central government to the tune of about Rs 25 crore to create infrastructure facilities.
Besides, Rs 4 crores have been incurred for building roads, electricity, drains and other facilities by the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC).
5,000 village girls from nearby areas have already been trained at stitching to cater to the manpower requirements of the apparel units coming up at VAEP.
