During the first two months of 2008, Vietnamese textile and apparel enterprises shipped 2.1 million jacket suits to EU market worth US $33.8 million. The statistics depict a growth of 2.43 and 21 percent, in terms of volume and value respectively over similar period 2007.
In this period, Vietnam quoted $15.58 for each piece, with a hike of 18 percent against the corresponding period last year.
In these two months, the country fetched $240 million from exporting textile and apparel products in the EU market, representing a year–on–year rise of 22 percent.
Jacket suit emerged as the second highest currency earner from this region. At present, more than 700 enterprises from the region are exporting this product to 15 countries.
