Shirts export showcases a significant surge in 2008

According to Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Vietnam fetched nearly US $173 million through the export of elastic shirts in April 2008. It showcases a significant rise of 14 percent over March and a hike of 53 percent over same period of 2007.
The revenue generated during the first 4 months of 2008 by exporting elastic shirts to various countries came around $608 million, witnessing a year-on-year growth of 32.5 percent.
Woolen shirt export also experienced upward trend and enjoyed a hike of 31.2 percent. Vietnam exported almost 998,000 pieces for approximately $4.0 million from January to April, showing slight surge of 1 percent on year.
By the end of April, woolen shirt manufactured in Vietnam made their presence in nearly 39 countries. From which Belgium stood at first position by ordering approximately 449,000 pieces worth around $1.47 million.
