The NRF Loss Prevention Conference & EXPO, the nation's leading retail-specific event for loss prevention, was held June 23 to 25 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla. Retailers and vendors gathered to discuss the hot issues in loss prevention, explore the EXPO Hall, attend educational sessions and network with industry peers.
Sheriff Grady Judd, of the Polk County Sheriff's Office, kicked off the convention and discussed how his deputies brought down one of the largest organized retail crime rings and emphasized the importance of retail and law enforcement partnerships.
There were more than 35 educational sessions, including eight product demonstrations, with diverse topics, such as legislative, legal, online investigations, data management, leadership, team development, active shooters, ethics, cyber intrusion and organized retail crime.
More than 115 experts led interactive educational sessions and roundtable discussions on the hottest issues the retail loss prevention industry is facing.
The 2008 NRF Loss Prevention Awards also were announced during the conference. In October, the NRF Senior Loss Prevention Executive Summit will help set the stage for next year's conference, June 15 to 17 in Los Angeles.
