Dr Shehzad Arshad, Chairman Pakistan Cotton Fashion Apparel manufacturers and Exporters Association has appealed to the Honorable Minister of Commerce and Textiles Mr. Mukhtar Ahmed and Minister of Petroleum Mr. Shah Mehmood Qureshi to look into the day by day worsening situation of apparel export based industry of our beloved country.

Dr Shehzad Arshad in a press statement said that increase in price of utilities and specially an increase in price of gas, has resulted in a big disaster to the textile industry, It is worth mentioning here that apparel export based industry contribute to approx 25% of the total country's export and provides employment to 40% of the labor of the country and to save this most value added industry from dying, government of Pakistan should look into this serious issue of increase in gas price, which will hurt the apparel export based industry and will also effect the whole textile industry and will further take it towards the point of no return.

Dr Shehzad Arshad said that Government of Pakistan has already failed in providing the required electricity to the textile industry and apparel export based industry and in result the apparel export based manufacturers had no option but to stop production in their units.
