Exports of apparel accessories deliver exceptional results

Exports of apparel accessories have been doing exceptionally well in the last few years. According to an official source of MOIT, for the first six months of 2008, shipments have amounted to US $ 419 million, a stupendous rise of 44.4 percent compared to the same period last year.
According to Vietnamese General Department of Customs, the exports of apparel accessories in May fetched US$ 84.67 million, a rise of 21.2% over April and 36.4% compared to May 2007. For the first five months of 2008, the figures are US $334.3 million, up by 34.1% over same period in 2007.
The key export markets for Vietnamese apparel accessories are US, EU and Japan. It is one of the few textile and apparel products witnessing exceptional growth and by the end of the year is expected to deliver a sterling performance.
