It has been noted that since 2000, Asia has become an important market of European, American as well as Asian lingerie brands.

According to the available statistics, average growth-rate of global lingerie consumption is about 2.9 percent each year, but that of Asia is 8 percent, with rise-rate in China marks at 11 percent.

In 2007, the American lingerie market earned nearly US $14 billion and that of Asia reached $10 million.

It is estimated that by 2014, the population of women in China and India will be more than 1 billion, so, the lingerie consumption will definitely grow.

It has also been noted that the lingerie preferences of women are continuously changing and it has become for the industry to keep pace.

Now, of the clothing consumption, lingerie accounts for 8 percent and is expected to go up to 10 percent within a year.
