Leading brands attract key buyers at Lingerie Americas

The second section of the show celebrated the diversity and creativity of top American and International brands: Allure Inside Out, Badgley Mischka, Blush, Cass Luxury Shapewear, Corin, D&D, Feraud, Grenier, Harlequin, Hope Lingerie, Jane Woolrich, Jessica Simpson Intimates, Nautica, Odille Oasis, Panache, Parah, Rösch CreativeCulture, Shock Absorber, Sista Shei, Spoylt and US Color/Intimidea.

Fashion show sponsors included L'Oréal Professional and David Evangelista at Cornelia (hair), Manic Panic N.Y.C. (makeup) and Gerbe (accessories).

Afterwards, guests were invited to mingle with colleagues during a cocktail party and buffet, featuring a live jazz performance by the Larry King Trio.

The Paris-based agency A Suivre, well-known for its special events and runway shows, produced the fashion show. A Suivre specializes in dynamic productions mixing professional lingerie models, dancers and artistic performers.

Cipriani 23rd Street is the newest jewel in the Cipriani family, located in the historic Toy Building at 200 Fifth Avenue. The intricate art deco decor serves as a backdrop to the cuisine made famous at Harry's Bar in Venice.

It is conveniently located a few blocks away from the trade show, located at the Altman Building and the Metropolitan Pavilion.

Business Development Seminars and Special Attractions Were a Hit The Lingerie Americas Seminar Series, designed to help retailers maximize success, was also a hit this season.

Seminars included: “How Sports Bras Can Add To Your Bottom Line” by Melissa Ford, New Balance Apparel Sales Manager; “Building Business During Hard Times” by Francesca Spinetta, Chief Editor of The Best of Intima and Mercedes Gonzalez, Director of Global Purchasing Companies; “Eveden Inc.

Fit School Seminar” by Frederika Zappe, Eveden National Fit Specialist; and “What's Next For The Lingerie Industry? From The “It Bra” To Basics, What Will Win Out With Consumers During The Next 6 To 12 Months Keeping The Difficult Economic Climate In Mind” by Fashion GroupInternational with moderator Libby Dowd, Associate Managing editor, Body Magazine and Sonja Winther, President, Chantelle USA; Melanie Henson, Director of Marketing Strategy, Victoria's Secret; Dan Sackrowitz, Vice President, Marketing & Business Development, Bare Necessities.

In addition, The Best of Intima magazine, part of Network Dessous, presented the “Best Shop Awards” throughout the three days of the show with an ongoing video about the contest, at their special lounge at the entrance of the Metropolitan Pavilion.

While the New York show opened the month of August, the second edition of Lingerie Americas at WWDMAGIC, Monday, August 25, thru Wednesday, August 27 at the Las Vegas Hilton, will close it.

Lingerie Americas at WWDMAGIC is a unique opportunity for Intimate Apparel buyers to shop a selection of fine Lingerie and Swimwear brands as well as explorethe trends and latest developments of the entire Women's Apparel market.

Lingerie Americas at WWDMAGIC will feature major brands exhibiting and a runway show, in conjunction with ISAM (International Swimwear & Activewear Market).

The ISAM section of the trade show is also located in the Las Vegas Hilton, next to Lingerie Americas, conveniently making this a one-stop-shop for Intimate Apparel and Swimwear buyers.

The runway shows will take place daily at the Center Stage in the MAGIC Convention Center. In addition, over 40 free educational seminars and presentations will be conducted by industry experts: trends forecasts, advanced selling strategies, marketing to consumers, and more.

For the first time, MAGIC will be held over a three-day period, instead of its usual four-day format, answering exhibitors and buyers calls for a shorter event. Show hours will continue to be from 8:00am to 6:00pm daily.
