Glenmuir adds new waterproof jackets to A/W Outerwear range

Glenmuir, one of Europe's leading golf apparel brands, has introduced four new waterproof jackets to its Autumn/Winter '08 Performance Outerwear range.

The waterproof market has been identified as a key area for growth by the Lanark, Scotland-based company and its two new men's jackets – the Rain Bloc Stretch and Rain Bloc Light - and ladies' jackets – Rain Bloc Flex and Rain Bloc Shell feature outstanding fabric technologies to deliver superb weather-beating performance.

Both the men's Rain Bloc Stretch and ladies' Rain Bloc Flex combine a Teflon-coated, breathable stretch microfibre outer fabric with a high specification, waterproof and breathable stretch lining – which is separated from the outer by an airgap.

Rain Bloc Stretch and Rain Bloc Flex technology delivers outstanding waterproofing while allowing internal water vapour to wick away from the body, and also guarantees super freedom of movement from its stretch characteristics.

The Rain Bloc Stretch is manufactured in a 98 percent polyester and 2 percent elastane outer layer with 100 percent polyester high performance lining incorporating a seam-sealed waterproof membrane.

The half zip and two zip front pockets are all waterproof and the concealed lightweight rib cuffs create a snug fit around the wrist. There is also an adjustable draw cord hem.

The Rain Bloc Stretch is available in three colourways – black with silver contrast piping detail on the front and back and contrast binding at the cuffs, graphite with black contrast piping and binding, and winter white with navy contrast piping and binding.

The Rain Bloc branding is printed at the centre back collar and front pocket, with the renowned Glenmuir 1891 logo printed on the sleeve.

The Rain Bloc Flex centre zip front jacket is manufactured from the same materials as the Rain Bloc Stretch and includes two concealed zipped pockets on the front and elasticated cuffs.

The Glenmuir woven tab is located on the side seam and Rain Bloc branding embroidered at the centre back collar.

The jacket is available in three designs – silver with black contrast piping on the front, back and sleeves, black with citrus contrast piping and navy with alpine pink contrast piping.

The men's Rain Bloc Light and ladies' Rain Bloc Shell features a super-soft lightweight, waterproof, microfibre outer fabric which is laminated to an ultra-light breathable micro-mesh lining.

Both feature-packed jackets include concealed zip-off sleeves, Velcro side tabs for fit adjustment, concealed storm cuffs, adjustable draw cord waist, storm collar with water repellent full length zip, water repellant side pocket zips and chest ventilation flaps.

The Rain Bloc Light, which also comes with stretch panel at the back shoulders and back scorecard pocket, is available in three colours silver/black, black/graphite and navy/winter white with the Rain Bloc branding printed at the centre back collar and left sleeve.
