Skins USA launches Cycle-Specific apparel line

Between sponsorship agreements with several professional athletes and teams, along with the outfitting of all USA Cycling athletes at this summer's Olympic Games, Skins isn't exactly a stranger to the cycling world.

In fact, Skins are known to cyclists, whether road, cross country or downhill enthusiasts, as the necessary product for fast post-activity recovery. Yet, with all that Skins are, there's one thing they're not: equipment for the ride...until now.

Meet Skins Cycle: The premium, performance-increasing line about to blow all other "bike shorts" out of the water, because they're not just bike shorts.

With Skins Cycle, riders experience the same tried and true benefits of all other Skins products. The increase in circulation/venous return is there. Greater endurance comes standard.

Reduction in post-activity soreness? You bet. Now though, the BioAcceleration technology that has made Skins so unique and effective comes with a superior chamois, allowing cyclists to benefit from Skins both on and off the bike.

And, as with everything Skins, the cycle line has been put through extensive lab and outdoor wear-testing, ensuring the ultimate in comfort, performance and durability.

The Skins Cycle chamois is one of the world's most advanced forms of padding, developed and race-tested by pro cyclists worldwide.

Constructed of four varying-density foams, the multi-DM Elastic Interface Technology provides optimal weight distribution and protection to sensitive areas. Precise sizing also sets Skins apart in the cycling category.

The unique system is based on body mass index/anthropometrical algorithm and, in conjunction with specialized pattern making and careful control of fabric-elasticity, creates apparel that fits each and every body type perfectly.

Beyond the premium chamois, Skins Cycle is manufactured with the same proven BioAcceleration Technology as other Skins ranges.

Understanding most cyclists have only thought to wear Skins for recovery, here's the low down of Skins' on-bike benefits: Skins engineered gradient compression apparel helps athletes train harder, perform better and recover faster.

In layman's terms, gradient compression works by applying a unique surface pressure formula over specific body parts, triggering an acceleration of blood flow.

Accelerated blood flow equals increased oxygen to working muscles, which enhances performance. Improved circulation also helps eliminate lactic acid and other metabolic wastes.

Available in bib long and half tights, along with standard long and half tights, the male and female specific lines will roll-out nationwide in Spring '09 to only the top specialty retail stores.

With Cycle for rides, and Recovery post-ride, Skins now offers a complete package and solution for the cycling community. Cyclists can ride faster, harder and longer in Skins, and wake up ready to do it again.
