Noyon Lanka wins coveted 2008 Taiki Akimoto 5S Award

MAS Holdings, Noyon Lanka (Pvt.) Ltd. was awarded the 2008 Taiki Akimoto 5S Award at a distinguished gathering on the 29th of November at Holiday Inn, Colombo. In addition, Noyon Lanka was also awarded the best 5S Implementation Award for the Manufacturing Sector.

The Taiki Akimoto 5S award is presented annually after an actively contested competition, and has lately taken a national outlook with government departments and ministries, industry, commerce and the service sectors competing for the coveted award.

Sited in the Board of Investment's export processing zone in Biyagama, Noyon Lanka is a joint venture between apparel manufacturing giant MAS Holdings and French lace artisans Noyon Dentelles de Calais.

Noyon Lanka was initially selected for the 1st round at which more than 40 government and non government organizations vied for the award. Of the initial qualifying parties 22 were short listed for the final round.
