In the period from January to November of the ongoing year, nearly 44.4 million pairs of socks worth US $15.5 million were exported to the various destinations across the globe, showcasing a growth of 65.2 percent in quantity and 44.7 percent in value year-on-year.
During these nine months, Japan became the leading market with export volume of 8.5 million pairs valued at $5.4 million, up 5.8 percent in volume and 9.9 percent in value, accounting for 34.9 percent of total export value.
The US and Korea stood next in list with export value of $5.301 and $1.56 million depicting a surge of 39.3 and 583.3 percent respectively.
The average export price of sock was quoted at $0.35 each pair, FOB, registering a decline of 12.5 percent year-on-year.
