With the signing of the 2009 wage agreement, the suspended national wage strike, will come to an end. The strike will official end after the accord is signed with the clothing industry employers.

Around 55,000 clothing workers, who had struck work, had joined back their jobs 10 days back and they are seeking a 7.9 percent wage hike, paid sick leave and big raise in the wages for workers in rural areas who are the lowest paid in the industry.

Sactwu had not accepted the 8 percent wage increase offered by employers with conditions at the time of the strike. The detailed wage agreement would be publicized following the signing ceremony.
