Sweater factory shuts due to financial crisis

Calico sweater factory in Rasulpur area of Fazelpur in Fatulla under Sadar upazila downed its shutters on account of financial problems.

The factory workers protested against the authorities of the factory for closing it down without paying their pending dues.
They took out a procession and alleged that the factory authorities did not pay their dues during the lay off period as per the labour law and also terminated workers without paying their wages.

However, the factory owners announced their intention to pay wages on January 10.
