“Our Prime Minister, along with BKMEA and BGMEA members visited Japan in a bid to increase knitwear exports to Japan. We are trying to arrange a single country fair with Japan in January 2011. We have 3-4 buyers in Japan, to whom KNZ Knitwear is exporting goods. The orders are in small quantity but we are trying to increase the quantum of those orders. Bangladesh is also trying to increase penetration in markets of Australia and South Africa, by organizing fairs”, informed Mr Golam Zakaria Bhuiyan, MD - KNZ Knitwear Ltd.
Shofiquzzaman Prince, Director of Sensible Fashion Pvt Ltd, said, “As far the Japanese market is concerned they source a huge volume of terry towels from our country and I have got a good response for terry-towels from a Japanese company as the product demand is growing at their hospitals, hotels and restaurants. Higher cost of production has caused a hike in garment prices in Turkey, China, Cambodia, Sri Lanka and Vietnam, and Bangladesh too has expanded its product range and marketing strategy over the past several years”.
