Dr BR Ambedkar NIT Jalandhar has launched reuseable easy breathe facemask for community use for protection against coronavirus. The facemask, developed by professors Vinay Midha and A Mukhopadhyay of the department of textile technology, is a breathable, low-cost and reuseable product that can be used effectively to control the transmission of coronavirus.At the launch event, NIT Jalandhar director LK Awasthi said that the technology for the mask was patented and was transferred to Ghaziabad-based Singla Engravures Pvt Ltd and Jalandhar-based Meditex Industries Pvt. Ltd in June 2020. Within two months' time, the companies have made the product available in the market.
Dr Vinay Midha, head of the department of textile technology said that the mask will be available at all chemist stores and online through Amazon, Flipkart and Nyka.

Dr A Mukhopadhyay informed that the mask is designed by optimising the protection and breathing resistance of the facemask, so that it can be worn by users for longer duration of time.
