Turkey apparel exports up 1.02% in Jan-August 2019

Category-wise, exports of knitted and crocheted clothing and accessories (HS chapter 61) earned $5.952 billion during the eight-month period, registering a decrease of 0.2 per cent from $5.963 billion earned during the corresponding period of the previous year.

Exports of non-knitted apparel and accessories (HS chapter 62) were valued at $4.439 billion, up 3.7 per cent from $4.279 billion exports made in the same period of 2018.

Meanwhile, exports of carpets, mats and tapestries (HS chapter 57) were up 9.2 per cent to $1.571 billion during the period under review. (PC)
