At FESI annual General Assembly organised in Cologne on October the 31st, following the election of FESI's new Board Mr. Horst Widmann, Puma's Vice president, convinces unanimously all FESI's stakeholders to renew his mandate as President and sets clear strategic goals for the future of the European Sporting goods industry in a turbulent geopolitical environment.

In his intervention to the ordinary General Assembly, Mr. Widmann clearly pointed out some of the key achievement FESI was able to complete during his last presidency as indicated hereafter

“Federation expansion: Both in terms of national federations but also industry suppliers, FESI has gained importance and a number of relevant stakeholders, like for instance TMD (association of the registered Turkish trade marks) in Turkey and EOG (European Outdoor Group) as the federation representing the outdoor sector, have joined the European platform contributing to its overall stability and political impact.

Recently, the sporting goods retailers have also reveal their interest in subscribing to the European federation and different organisations such as Intersport have finalised their application and are presently contributing to the activity of some of FESI's relevant working committees.

Office move: FESI's new premises, directly at the heart of the EU lobbying quarter, have positively contributed to the development of the European platform's institutional image and have played an important role in the maturity of FESI as the unique voice of the sporting goods industry in Brussels.
