Indian Business Portal launched for exporters, foreign buyers

Indian minister of state for commerce and industry Anupriya Patel recently launched the Indian Business Portal, a global trade hub for Indian exporters and foreign buyers. The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) has designed and developed the portal in partnership with GlobalLinker. It is customised to support exporters with a range of features.

The business-to-business digital marketplace will empower small and medium exporters, artisans and farmers to identify new markets for their products and grow their sales globally, an official release said.

India’s overall exports touched $676.2 billion in fiscal 2021-2022. India’s overall exports were worth $526.6 billion and $497.9 billion in fiscals 2019-20 and 2020-21 respectively. India’s merchandise exports stood at $421.8 billion in fiscal 2021-2022.

The portal has a diverse product mix: consumer and lifestyle products, industrial products, business services and geographical indication (GI) products.

More than 14,000 small and medium enterprises are registered on the FIEO GlobalLinker platform and of those over 2,000 have already joined with over 40,000 products and services listed on Indian Business Portal for the pilot.
