Most markets registered increases in exports in March 2006, particularly, West Asia with 51.7 percent increase, followed by Taiwan, 50.4 percent, the Republic of Korea (ROK), 37.9 percent; Hong Kong SAR, 33.6 percent; the European Union (EU), 23.6 percent; the United States of America (USA), 23.1 percent; Japan, 13.8 percent; ASEAN, 11.2 percent; and the People's Republic of China (PRC), 10 percent.
Export Destinations ASEAN, the USA, the EU, Japan, Hong Kong SAR and the PRC together accounted for 77.1 percent of Malaysia's total exports in March 2006.
ASEAN absorbed RM13.67 billion or 26.7 percent of Malaysia's total exports in March 2006, an increase of 11.2 percent from RM12.3 billion in February 2006.
