INTRADE 2008 to witness intl participation

This year INTRADE 2008, is scheduled from November 13 to 16 at the MATRADE Exhibition and Convention Centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The exhibition is organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
More than 600 companies from nearly 60 countries worldwide are expected to take part in the four-day event. At least 15,000 visitors are expected to attend INTRADE compared to last year's 10,000 visitors.
The main purpose of the fair is to promote and enhance trade and investment opportunities among Malaysian and international entrepreneurs, who deal in sectors like textile, garment, jewellery, chemicals, home furnishing and cosmetics. MATRADE is expecting to exceed $1 billion sales that was registered last year.
According to Susila Devi, Senior Director, MATRADE, Intrade would be an excellent opportunity for all the exporters to expand their business markets. The bilateral trade between these two nations has increased from nearly US $4.2 billion in 2005 to almost $4.8 billion in 2007.
Malaysian investments in the Philippines have likewise increased from P855 million in 2006 to P7.56 billion in 2007. In the first five months of 2008, Philippine exports to Malaysia went up 26.9 percent higher when compared to same period in 2007.
