Global trade of woven babywear drops

The global export of woven baby wear decreased 12.54 per cent to $1,821.24 million in 2019 compared to $2,082.36 million in 2017. Total exports plunged 10.47 per cent in 2019 over the previous year, according to data from TexPro. Further, the export is expected to drop to $9,026.94 million in 2022 with a rate of 10.23 per cent from 2019.
 
The global import value of woven baby wear fell 9.31 per cent to $2,423.01 million in 2019 from $2,671.64 million in 2017. Total imports decreased 10.77 per cent in 2019 over the previous year and is expected to slash to $2,201.21 million in 2022 with a rate of 9.15 per cent from 2019, according to Fibre2Fashion's market analysis tool TexPro.
 
China ($504.86 million), Spain ($232.97 million), India ($229.88 million) and UK ($102.76 million) were the key exporters of woven baby wear across the globe in 2019, together comprising 58.78 per cent of total export. These were followed by Italy ($93.32 million), France ($84.00 million) and Turkey ($79.29 million).
 
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export value, amongst the main exporting countries, was attained by Spain (148.59 per cent) and the UK (95.85 per cent).
 
US ($387.79 million), Spain ($349.34 million), UK ($300.75 million), France ($205.65 million) and Germany ($153.07 million) were the key importers of woven baby wear in the globe in 2019, together comprising 57.64 per cent of total import. These were followed by Italy ($143.32 million), Netherlands ($81.74 million) and Poland ($70.38 million).
 
From 2015 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of import value, amongst the main importing countries, was attained by Spain (116.16 per cent) and UK (96.73 per cent).
