Cotton denim fabric import in demand

Cotton denim fabric of South Korea was more in demand in 2005, with an ample growth in monthly imports up during the last six months of 2005.
From January to November, total cotton denim fabric imports inflated 37.2 percent to 18,181,714 kilograms.
While increase in exports was witnessed only 13 percent to 2,380,882 kilograms during the same period; this enables net import to reach 41.7 percent to a never-before volume of 15.770 million kilograms.
With notable hike in imports of men's and women's cotton denim jeans, a rise in local retail purchase of denim products seems to have been behind the growth.
China was the main exporter of cotton denim fabric with 84 percent of all January to November imports came from this origin.
The other exporters were Turkey and Japan.
