Crystal Denim, the denim division of Crystal International, has launched the Wash Minus- collection, in partnership with Noble Biomaterials, a leader in antimicrobial technologies. With new Ionic+ technology applied to the collection, the collaboration builds off Crystal’s game-changing vision and Noble’s long-standing reputation as the innovators to bring the safety and sustainability of silver-ion technology to more consumers.

Crystal Denim is the first garment and denim manufacturer partnering with Noble to apply this new Ionic+ technology on garment. The new eco Wash Minus- collection instils the concept of water conservation from cradle to grave.

Wash Minus- collection aims to reduce water from 3 different phases. First, the collection adopts Second Life fabric, the recycled and circular denim fabric innovated by Crystal Denim to minimise wastage and water consumption from growing new cotton. In the second phase, Crystal Denim uses holistic water efficient washing processes, more than 80 per cent of the water can be reused and recycled. By applying Ionic+ technology in the finishing stage of denim manufacturing, it aims to reduce the number of home laundries by 70 per cent during the phase of consumer care.

“In addition, Crystal Denim leverages packaging to convey the concept: by reducing the number of home washing, we are saving not only water, but also time, energy, and money. The collection communicates a sustainable message that, denim can stay clean, fresh and be worn longer,” Crystal International said in a media release.

Miles Lam, assistant general manager of Crystal Denim, stated, “Sustainability is always at the forefront of our minds when creating new innovative products. We are excited to launch our Wash Minus- collection to further expand our sustainable product range for our customers. By incorporating Noble’s new Ionic+ Durable antimicrobial solution, the positively charged ions are added to the denim products at the finishing stage where the odour-eliminating ionised silver allows jeans to remain clean and odour-free, reducing the need for frequent washing, helping to conserve water, energy and natural resources, as well as reducing fabric degradation over time.”

“Crystal Denim’s sustained commitment to excellence in not only their products but in making the world a better place is very much at Noble’s own heart, and we’re thrilled to be working with them to provide the most complete anti-microbial system on the planet,” said Joel Furey, Noble Biomaterials co-founder and chief commercial officer.
