Japanese apparel firm Sanyo Shokai's loss narrows in first half

Sanyo Shokai, a Japanese apparel manufacturer, has reported a 7.2 per cent sales growth to ¥16.4 billion in the first half (H1) of FY22 ended on August 31, 2021, over the sales of ¥15.3 billion in the corresponding period of prior fiscal. The company’s loss for the six-month period narrowed down to ¥1.9 billion (H1 FY21: ¥6.6 billion).
 
Operating loss for the first half reduced to ¥2.0 billion (¥5.7 billion), while ordinary loss came down to ¥1.8 billion (¥5.7 billion). Moreover, the clothing firm recorded a gross profit of ¥7.7 billion (¥5.9 billion).
 
In its forecast, the company said that it expects sales to jump 9.4 per cent during FY22 to ¥41.5 billion and operating profit to reach ¥100 million.
