Sciessent, a leading provider of customised antimicrobial solutions for various customer products, has announced that textile producer, Vertextile, has incorporated Sciessent’s Agion antimicrobial into its line of polo shirts for powerful, long-lasting odour protection. Offensive odours in apparel are caused by odour-causing bacteria that is found on skin.
The bacteria has two potential platforms for generating odour: Skin and the garment. Whether it’s using one or both platforms, odour can easily permeate through a garment unless it is treated with the proper odour control technology.Sciessent, a leading provider of customised antimicrobial solutions for various customer products, has announced that textile producer, Vertextile, has incorporated Sciessent's Agion antimicrobial into its line of polo shirts for powerful, long-lasting odour protection. Leveraging EPA-registered copper and silver technology, Sciessent’s Agion automatically releases its antimicrobial components only when conditions for bacteria growth are present. This results in textiles and garments that stay clean, dry, and smelling fresh longer than those containing any other antimicrobial solution, according to a press release by Sciessent.
“Consumer desire for odour protection coupled with an industry need for sustainable manufacturing practices continues to drive significant demand for our technologies among global textile manufacturers. We are honoured to have been chosen by Vertextile as its antimicrobial solutions provider in the development of high quality, performance apparel,” Paul C. Ford, CEO of Sciessent said.
Agion antimicrobial solutions from Sciessent have been incorporated into a wide range of healthcare, industrial, and consumer applications, including medical devices such as central venous catheters and IV access ports.
