German brand Adidas unveils Triple-Red FC Bayern München kit

Today, adidas reveals a unique triple-red FC Bayern München home kit for the upcoming 2024/25 season, the first time in the club’s history that three different shades of the club’s iconic colourway have been introduced to the regular home shirt. While a fresh interpretation of the vertical striped look beloved by supporters, is applied through creative use of the diamond shape, so well-associated with the club and region.

Interlapping darker and lighter wavy stripes of the club’s famous primary colour bring a contemporary twist to one of football’s most recognisable kits, creating a fluid and eye-catching design, showcasing the traditional stripe ‘in motion’ for this dynamic team. A third shade completes the detailing of the jersey with a dark red version of the adidas logo, three stripes, club crest, team name and shirt sponsor logos.

In applying a triple-red colourway, adidas designers provide a subtle tribute to FC Bayern München’s position as the only men’s team in Germany to have claimed the continental treble – winning the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal Cup and UEFA Champions LeagueTM titles in the 2012/13 and 2019/20 seasons.

Staying true to its DNA and speaking to the depth and legacy of the club, diamond shapes synonymous with the team crest and the flag of Bavaria, provide depth to the design, and are found subtly printed into the base red fabric throughout the shirt. The club’s motto, Mia san Mia – meaning ‘we are who we are’ - adorns the outer back neck of the jersey as an homage to the unwavering passion and pride that unites the players on the pitch, with the fans in the stands.

adidas design spokesperson said: “Red is more than just a colour to FC Bayern München – it is a well-established symbol of the clubs’ early origins in Bavaria and has been at the heart of the team’s identity for over 100 years, shown by the team’s affectionate nickname – ‘Die Roten’ (The Reds). We wanted to create a kit that paid tribute to this, but in an unexpected way. Through considered application of this hue, we fuse striking, bold impact – clear on the field of play, with a more subtle, quiet and compelling graphic detail, only truly visible to the fan and athlete that will wear it pride.”

Crafted for performance and to provide world-class players with the confidence to play under pressure, the lightweight jerseys feature the latest in adidas technology and were created in close collaboration with the FC Bayern München men’s and women’s teams.

The on-field version of the jersey is constructed with HEAT.RDY technology, optimized to keep players feeling comfortable. While the fan version features AEROREADY technology, which uses sweat-wicking or absorbent materials to keep the body feeling dry.

The authentic iteration of the kit is available to purchase for €150, while the fan version is €100 – and both are available to purchase from 6th May via FC Bayern München stores, selected retail stores, and online.
