In January 2006 the show will move to Milan's new exhibition centre, which has just come on stream. To coincide with the move, its format and strategy will be completely relaunched but its traditional ability to listen will remain unchanged.
The new MACEF January 2006, taken in its entirety, will feature many very distinctive elements that make it a very different show from that which was launched in 1964 and which has grown to become one of the principal points of reference for the world of the home.
The new MACEF, with one eye on the market and one on the future – For 42 years the show has been both involved in and an interpreter of trends for the home and has also acted as an engine for the market.
Now it is re-emphasizing its role as a commercial show by forging a new identity that is very much in line with the wishes of the organizers for it to be a strategic link between past and future with its focus firmly fixed on distribution and the consumer.
The New MACEF will offer an exhibition follow that is instructive and educational, involving and realistic in all its parts.
A “committee of experts” (the designer Giulio Cappellini, the sociologist Francesco Morace, the journalist Aldo Colonetti and the economist Chiara Mauri) will work alongside the Fiera Milano International organization to identify the guidelines for the show in the light of market developments and changes underway in the world of distribution.
