Liberty International to invest Rs10-20 bn in Rajasthan

JAIPUR: British property and retail major Liberty International plc plans to invest about Rs10-20 billion in Rajasthan and thereby increase its presence in India.
David Fischel, Chief Executive officer of Liberty International, met Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje here Wednesday and announced his investment plans.
Liberty International has a joint venture with apparel manufacturer Provogue in the country, known as Prozone-Liberty.
The British firm had entered into a joint venture with Provogue to develop and manage prime regional shopping centres which were transforming into organised retail sector.
Prozone-Liberty, initially plans to build six shopping centres in India.
It is a major FTSE-100 ranking UK-listed property business with investments of over eight billion pounds.
Liberty International's main business is in premier property assets, especially shopping centres and other retail having high potential, scarcity value and requires active management and creativity.
