Japanese firm Descente's sales rise 5.3% in FY24

Japanese sports clothing and accessories company Descente Ltd has reported net sales of ¥126.98 billion (approximately $822.9 million) in fiscal 2024 (FY24), ended March 31, 2024, marking a 5.3 per cent increase from the previous year’s ¥120.614 billion. The operating profit rose by 12.2 per cent to ¥8.74 billion from ¥7.793 billion in the previous fiscal. The ordinary profit saw a substantial increase of 34.8 per cent, reaching ¥15.729 billion, up from ¥11.664 billion last year. P

Profit attributable to owners of the parent increased by 13.9 per cent to ¥12.014 billion, compared to ¥10.55 billion in the prior fiscal, the company said in a press release.

For FY24, comprehensive income was ¥16.324 billion, an increase from ¥14.432 billion in FY23. Basic earnings per share increased to ¥159.08 from ¥139.74 in the previous fiscal. The ordinary profit to total assets ratio improved to 11.1 per cent from 9.3 per cent, while the operating profit to net sales ratio increased to 6.9 per cent from 6.5 per cent.
