Hama region's cotton output reaches 27342 tons

Cotton production in Hama Governorate, Central Syria, reached 27342 tons for the year 2005, with average production of 418 KG per 1000 square metre.
The marketed amount of cotton harvests estimated to about 24430 tons until November 25, 2005.
Agriculture Manager in Hama Gazi al-Shaqafeh informed that areas available for planting were around 66830 hectares while actual cultivation area was 66300 hectares including 80 hectares were rendered useless due to weather.
