Farmers, ginners to get premium for pollution free cotton

A scheme has been launched by Ministry of Textile to encourage the farmers and ginners to produce quality cotton.
Producers of pollution free cotton crop would be paid a premium of Rs 50 per 40 Kg for grade II variety. This was announced by the Secretary Textile, Masood Alam Rizvi.
Pakistan Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, Trade Corporation of Pakistan, Provincial Agriculture Departments and representatives of ginners will decide the premium after verifying the quality of the cotton.
A move in this direction has already been taken with the selection of 31 ginning factories, he said.
