This week's grade 3 cotton spot rates open today unchanged at Rs 2525, informs a Karachi Cotton Association release.
Ready cotton transactions recorded at following stations were:
7000 bales transacted at Rahim Yar Khan for rates between Rs 2540-2575, 2000 bales at SDK for rates between Rs 2525-2575, 1000 bales at Tiba Sultan for rs 2575, upper Sindh recorded 1000 bales at Rs2575 and APE station registered bales sale at Rs 2550 per maund.
Pakistan Export Promotion Bureau has informed that during the period 01-08-05 to 31-01-2006, cotton exports reached 199, 524 bales.
Federal Bureau of Statistics reports that Decemmber 2005 cotton shipments stood at 51,206 bales.
Textile Commissioner's Organization figures reveal that the cotton consumption by mills stood at 12,486,014 bales during August 2004 to July 2005.
Unsold cotton stocks at The Cotton Exchange is reported to be 2,277,625 as of 01-02-2006.
