Cotton fiber production sees increase of 5.6% in January

Cotton fibre production increased to 162,855 tons in January 2006, according to statistical information released by the country.
This is a 5.6 percent increase in comparison to January 2005.
In cotton yarn production, the country has recorded 27.9 percent year-on-year reduction to 8502 tons in January, and in cotton fabric, textile enterprises witnessed decrease of 29 percent to 16,306 million square meters.
The country increased cotton fiber production 21.6 percent to 1.188 million tons in 2005.
This is a 5.6 percent increase in comparison to January 2005.
