Monyane Moleleki, Foreign Minister, Kingdom of Lesotho, expressed keen desire to strengthen relations with Pakistan, which was aptly reciprocated by Humayun Akhtar Khan, the Pakistani Commerce Minister.
The economic situation of both the countries alongwith trade opportunities offered by them were also discussed.
Moleleki laid emphasis on textile sector explaining that Pakistan was surely to benefit from the services and allowances granted by his country as it is a member of Southern African Development Committee (SADC), and the South African Customs Union and African Growth Opportunity Act (AGOA).
He also showed keen interest in the leather-footwear and surgical goods sector.
Meanwhile, Khan conveyed that Pakistan was working hard to further expand trade relations with African countries.
Southern African country of Lesotho imports overall Pakistani goods worth US $1,582,000 with rice, cotton fabrics and medical-surgical instruments being the chief products.
However, Lesotho's exports to Pakistan rounds up to US $149,000 which comes from raw cotton only.
