TCP issues tenders for 93,000 cotton bales

Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has floated new tender for domestic textile units and for exports for sale of its 93,000 cotton bales.

TCP General Manager, Sheikh Imtiaz informed that from Karachi godowns, 15,000 bales of grade-II, 65,000 bales of grade-III and 9,000 bales of grade IV cotton have been offered for sale besides 2000 bales each from Dera Ghazi Khan and Chichawatni.

TCP sold 24,000 cotton bales over the offers received through a tender, earlier that included 2,000 bales of grade-II sold at Rs 2425 per maund, 16,400 bales of grade-III at Rs 2400 and 1,000 bales also of grade-III at Rs 2350 per maund.

TCP also accepted offers for 5,000 bales from the exporters at 47.61 US cent per pound.

So far, TCP has sold 10,67,000 bales that included 9,67,000 sold to local textile industry and 1,00,000 to exporters, parting a remaining stock of 5,09,000 bales out of its total stocks of 16,00,000 bales.
