Clean cotton producers to get Rs 50 as premium, says CCP

A decision to award a premium of Rs 50 per maund to cotton growers and ginners growing clean and contamination free cotton under Premium Payment Scheme has been approved by Committee on Clean Cotton.
The Committee met under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Textile Industry Mushtaq Ali Cheema and Federal Minister for Commerce Humayun Akhtar Khan attended the meeting.
Cotton growers and ginners will be ecouraged to procuring clean and pollution free cotton and this proposal would be submitted to Prime Minister soon for approval.
Officials of Trading Corporation of Pakistan with concerned provincial government, ministry of Food and Livestock and representatives of Pakistan Cotton Standard Institute will monitor and clear payments under the scheme.
TCP will procure 3,10,000 bales of this variety from the 31 selected ginning factories of the country (22 from Punjab, 7 from Sindh and 2 Balochistan provinces).
