Imports demands of cotton yarn is on the rise continuously by Czech Republic weavers and knitters.
This is due to German and Italian operations importing their yarn from Czech Republic, rather than spinning the cotton locally.
Cotton consumption in the Czech Republic has been weakened for the past many years. From January to August, cotton yarn imports amounted to 11,215.7 tons, representing a 12.5 percent annual growth.
Leading cotton exporters to Czech Republic were Germany (29.1 percent, up 8.6 percent), Italy (19 percent, up 43.8 percent) and India (18.8 percent, up 3.1 percent).
Though the quantity was small, imports from Turkey, Spain, Greece and Syria also rose notably.
