United States has traded more than 50 percent cotton, as compared to the same time period in the previous years. More so, this year alone, US stands at 4.3 million bales, indicating that the country's exports is at an upward trend. Since ten weeks, US export demand figures have been send moving upwards, thereby, depicting significant sales activity.

Industry experts feel that a huge US cotton crop could well provide the much required comfort for US producers and consumers across the globe.

Experts, while speaking at the Cotton Roundtable in New York City informed that, more cotton will be required by the country. Further more, the early anticipated figures of US production at 15 million bales to 16 million bales, would have been horrifying for consumers and customers.

Joe Nicosia, Allenberg president and CEO said that, on the basis of the potential for a Texas crop and improved growth conditions, experienced so far across the rest of the Cotton Belt, cotton production in US is anticipated at 19.2 million bales on 10.9 million planted acres in 2010.

Production of cotton last crossed 19 million bales in 2006, wherein US had produced 21.5 million bales of crop on 15.2 million planted acres.

As per Nicosia, the world is likely to demand more for US crop. He is infact projecting the usage at just below 18 million bales, which includes exports of 14.3 million bales and local mill usage of 3.5 million bales. This again would leave behind stocks for 2010-11 at 4 million bales, which will give a little bigger cushion as compared to current year's 2.7 million bales starting stocks estimates.

Nicosia informed that, till the new crop is harvested, US is likely to face very little competition for export sales. Probably, every nation in the world will be sold out. Hence, US will be able to build on their export base and put across higher sales.
