Japan imports footwear at low price

Despite the average increasing rate of all categories of Vietnamese footwear at 10.1 percent (about US $7.12 per pair of goods), export price to Japan rose below average rate at 9.3 percent in January 2006.
For March, Japan's average importing price of plastic shoes stood at 15.52 percent, whereas per pair price was $8.34.
Leather capped shoes prices increased 7.52 percent against average of 7.93 percent and knitting materials capped – shoes gained 14.37 percent against 16.57 percent of Japanese importing rate.
According to Japanese Customs, country's footwear and accessories imports rose 67.72 percent at $18.37 million.
This amount of $18.37 million imports comprises knitting materials capped- shoes (worth $5.03 million – a 132.53 percent rise), plastic shoes ($5.97 million – up 80 percent) and leather capped – shoes ( $7.19 million – up 35.91 percent).
