PLGMEA had asked for a trade subsidy of 25 percent on the leather garments for the next two years. The Export Development Fund Board had agreed to include the subsidy in this year's trade policy. Mr. Khan pointed out that if the problems in the leather garments industry are attended to, the industry can attain $1 billion in the coming years.
