Amazon recently announced signing a lease with GMR Hyderabad Airport City to expand its largest fulfilment centre in India at the GMR-led Rajiv Gandhi International Airport. The existing fulfilment centre is spread across 4 lakh sq ft and will now be expanded by another 1,80,000 sq ft, taking its total processing area to more than 850,000 sq ft in Telangana.

With this expansion, the company aims to add several more hundreds of skilled jobs in the region and empower thousands of local sellers to use the local infrastructure, a news agency quoted Akhil Saxena, company vice president, customer fulfilment-Asia, as saying. (DS)
