Lacquar craft resurrected in Sri Lanka

European Commission to Sri Lanka and Maldives along with Sarvodaya Economic Enterprise Development Services Ltd [SEEDS] and APT Enterprise Development – UK
have taken an initiative of employing local youth and small scale units, under various programmes.
Lacquar Craft Village has been developed to promote their products and use latest technology and designs to cater the demands of the customers.
Saman Renuka Wijayasiri who received three Presidential Awards for the best craftsmen said that the training had helped him become a businessman and the latest technology had been used to produce quality products.
SEEDS plans to open display centers in four regions to craftsmen.
