College of Engineering and Technology (CET) is planning to commence M Tech degree course in power plant management considering new industrial developments in Orissa.

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) qualifiers look upon the college as the last stop for engineering studies, with advantage of sound infrastructure.

Various business houses are keen to construct power plants in the state, with some power utility ones inking MoUs with Government. This has increased importance of the M Tech course.

Founded in 1981, CET is presently fuelling an expansion drive. To upgrade its education levels, it is trying to accumulate novel funds.

CET provides bachelor degrees in fashion technology and textile engineering, whereas master degrees are offered in architecture, structural engineering and computer science.

On the silver jubilee occasion of college, students and alumni are preparing for celebration programs to be held between January 5 and 8 this year. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will attend the ceremony on January 5.
