CLO Virtual Fashion launches AR Smart Mirror

CLO Virtual Fashion, a 3D garment simulation technology powerhouse and the developer of 3D design software CLO (www.clo3d.com) and Marvelous Designer (www.marvelousdesigner.com), has launched ‘AR Smart Mirror’ that enables consumers to virtually try on clothing without getting undressed. The process involves creating a customised avatar in real time by AI.

AR Smart Mirror’ was unveiled at CES 2019, the largest tradeshow for consumer technology, which took place during January 8 -11, in Las Vegas.

AR Smart Mirror integrates CLO Virtual Fashion’s 3D avatar creation and virtual fitting API ‘BeneFit-by-CLO’ (https://benefitbyclo.com) with LG’s touch screen signage and automatic body scanning technology using 3D camera.

Consumers can now have their body scanned automatically, and virtually try on clothing on the Smart Mirror interface without getting undressed. Once the consumer’s body data is extracted from body scanning, a customised avatar is created in real time by AI. Based on the body data of the user’s avatar, AR Smart Mirror recommends the right sizing for clothes created in 3D, and users can accurately check fit by looking at the fit maps in real time. AR Smart Mirror’s offerings do not just end in size and fit suggestions: users can seamlessly move on to purchasing the clothes online directly on AR Smart Mirror.
