More plural and diverse than ever: that is how we might describe the sixty-sixth edition of SIMM, the Madrid International Fashion Fair, which is due to take place between 1st and 3rd September next.

This new edition, which will take place in its usual setting in Halls 12 and 14 at Feria de Madrid in the thematic area for fashion and trends known as DC AREA 12.14, will feature a number of footwear, suede and glace lamb brands, as well as children's fashion and men's sports clothing brands, in addition to the new women's commercial fashion collections for Spring-Summer 2012, thus strengthening the event's diverse appeal.

The varied and diverse selection of fashion ideas presented at this edition, which make up the largest exhibition offered by the fair in recent years, will enable SIMM to serve as a unique monographic fashion forum in Spain, one that is capable of catering for the growing diversification trend within the specialised trade, where it is becoming increasingly common to find fashion items being sold alongside accessories.

In this sense, SIMM will present a wide selection of women's fashion collections, ranging from cutting-edge designs to party-wear creations, without forgetting urban-wear, casual wear, accessories, swimwear, footwear, creations in suede and glace lamb and a selection of children's fashion ideas.

This varied and high-quality exhibition will feature the participation of nearly 450 exhibitors and more than 700 brands. It will also be supported by the 53% increase in visitors recorded at the fair's last edition, which took place in February of this year. The fair will also be complemented by the coinciding staging of the IFEMA Showrooms in the North Convention Centre, where a number of high-category Spanish and foreign companies will come together to present their ideas.

A Buoyant Marketing Campaign

Since the marketing campaign began for this sixty-sixth edition, the fair has presented some favourable contracting figures regarding the exhibition space available.

According to the Director of SIMM, Pola Iglesias, "This favourable rate reflects the fact that this fair has recovered its purpose for many companies within the sector, companies that had opted for other marketing tools in order to commercialise their collections, but can now see the importance of taking part at SIMM and fulfilling their current priorities, such as those of recovering their direct contact with customers and clients, testing out their new collections and establishing new contacts". "All of these three priorities are facilitated by the fair", declares Pola Iglesias.
