Women Entrepreneurs 2007 to dazzle Mumbaikars

Women Entrepreneurs 2007, a two-day exhibition-cum-sale organized by the Ladies' Wing of the Indian Merchants' Chamber, will be held from 31st October to 1st November at Mumbai's Taj President.

An event that has 'for the women, of the women and by the women' as its preamble, it is one of the biggest and most-awaited pre-Diwali shopping bonanza.

Minal Bajaj, President, IMC Ladies Wing, told Fibre2fashion, "As in the past, this year will also be an exciting and enjoyable experience."

The exhibition will showcase the latest in high-quality designer wear and garments, fashion accessories, jewellery and lifestyle products.

However, Women Entrepreneurs 2007 has a nobler objective than just bringing together the best in fashion under one roof. Their main aim is to provide poor yet talented women an opportunity to present their work.

"Our basic objective is to provide a rare opportunity to women entrepreneurs with little means and with no retail outlets of their own. This year, we expect to bring together under one roof more than 50 exhibitors to participate from as far as New Delhi, Kolkata, Gurgaon, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Mumbai. Another highlight of the event is that we provide complementary stall to various NGOs," Vandana Kanoria, Chairperson, IMC Ladies Wing's exhibition committee told Fibre2fashion.

The Wing also uses any surplus towards funding the empowerment of women through education, vocational training or guidancecells. The activities of the Wing inspire, motivate and encourage women to participate in entrepreneurial activities.
