GD & Interview at FDDI in progress for the new academic session

Footwear Design & Development Institute (FDDI) has witnessed an unprecedented rush for admissions to the various programmes for this academic session 2009-10.

As a part of the selection process FDDI is conducting Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) & Creative Ability Test (CAT) of short listed candidates for admission to the various programmes.

When contacted, Mr. Rajeev Lakhara, IRS, Managing Director, FDDI, said “All of our programmes aims at creation of a pool of skilled manpower in numbers with adequate skills that meets the employment requirement across various sectors of the national economy.”

“Even during the economic downturn, FDDI has proven pundits wrong with a 100 per cent placement for all the students of the various programmes being conducted by the institute, hence the aspiring student is eager to get admitted in FDDI,” added Mr. Lakhara.

A Common Entrance Test was conducted on 12th, 13th &14th June 2009 at 27 cities all over India for its various programmes in the area of Retail Management, Footwear Design & Technology & Leather Goods & Accessories Design the result of which was declared on 23rd June 2009. The result of the same is also available at FDDI's website www.fddiindia.com.

An all India merit list was prepared on the basis of the result of written examination and the short listed candidates were called for GD, PI & CAT. The GD & PI for Post Graduate progammes was held on 29th and 30th June 2009 & for Under Graduate programmes it has commenced from 2nd July 2009 and will be over by 4th July 2009 at its campus in Noida.

Sharing the details, Mr. Shashi Bhushan Shukla, IRS, Secretary, FDDI, said “The final result of the ranks achieved in the GD, PI & CAT will be declared by 7th July 2009 at FDDI's website & the counselling will take place from 16th to 21st July 2009.”

“The programme and the campus will be allotted to the successful candidates on the basis of their ranks during counseling & the new session for all the programmes will begin from August 2009,” added Mr. Shukla.

FDDI has always enjoyed special preference from Indian as well as foreign employers on account of its excellent performance sustained over a long period of time and its strong brand image.
